About Us Cherry Acres Tutoring is a support service provided to families to help their student meet, sustain, and exceed their academic goals. Cherry Acres Tutoring has qualified, experienced, and professional tutors there to meet all the needs of the students and the parent. All tutors have had a successful and extensive background in their specific subject matter. Not only do the tutors have core subject knowledge, they also have gone through extensive training on tutoring techniques that caters to the learning needs of each individual child. Cherry Acres Tutoring provides the necessary literature and supplies to help students be successful. All in all Cherry Acres Tutoring is equipped with the tools and the people to help your child be a success in the classroom.
| Where Did Cherry Acres Tutoring Originate?
Cherry Acres Tutoring was established by the husband and wife team of Mr. Larry M. Cherry Jr. and Mrs. Tara Cherry. Both Larry and Tara have an extensive background in education and reputation for aiding students in their academic needs. Larry is a graduate of Virginia Commonwealth University where he majored in Mathematics. While at Virginia Commonwealth University he himself was a tutor for college, high school, and elementary students. Mr. Cherry is now an experienced mathematics teacher in Hopewell, VA where is teaching methods of songs and cooperative learning strategies have proven to be successful. Tara Cherry is a graduate of The University of Virginia. While attending The University of Virginia she obtained a bachelors degree in Economics. While at The University of Virginia Tara impacted numerous students in elementary, high school and college by being there supporting them in their academic endeavors through tutoring and mentoring. Tara has a passion for educating local youth and because of this passion she continues to tutor and mentor students. Tara has tutored students in core subjects as well as preparing various students for the S.A.T. All of Tara’s S.A.T. students are currently attending numerous universities.
Larry and Tara created Cherry Acres Tutoring to meet the needs of the students and their supportive parents. They both saw a need for academic improvement and vowed to meet that need so that students will not only be the best in their class, and will not only go to college, but will be successful, educated, productive, and contributing citizens.
